Day 1
Arrive 1 A.M. in San Pedro Sula. Private transport to El Meson B&B. Private transport to Copan Ruinas from San Pedro Sula (after you have rested and at the time of your choice). Dropped off at your hotel of choice in Copan Ruinas (see choices below). Discover the beautiful village of Copan and relax. Dinner at Twisted Tanya's -- best restaurant in town!
Day 2
Enjoy a full tour of the ruins, tunnels, sepulturas, and museums with a fantastic tour guide, perfect English, great with kids!
Day 3
Finca El Cisne full day tour -- begin the day with horseback riding through meadows with amazing vistas of the Guatemalan mountains, cattle ranch, fruit trees, and tilapia farms. Enjoy a gourmet lunch on the porch of the family hacienda. Tour the coffee processing operation. Stop off for a soak at the natural hot springs on the way back to town.
Day 4
Half day hike -- options include hiking to Los Sapos (smaller ruins site reputed to be the fertility site of the valley); learning about flora & fauna and wildlife; playing in waterfalls; exploring breathtaking views of the Copan River valley; touring women's cooperatives in a local Mayan Chorti village; wandering through an organic coffee finca; and savoring a delicious typico lunch at beautiful open air restaurant with a view.
Afternoon visit to Macaw Mountain bird reserve -- receive a one hour bilingual tour of exotic tropical birds, all rescued and flying freely in large naturally planted aviaries in the old growth forest in the Sesesmil River canyon. Take pictures of yourself holding the magnificent scarlet macaws on your shoulders in the interactive area!
Day 5
Morning canopy zipline tour -- fifteen cables take you zipping from mountaintop to mountaintop overlooking the Copan River valley and the ruins. A natural thrill ride! Private transport to San Pedro Sula. Overnight at El Meson.
Day 6
Private transport to San Pedro airport.
